Just posted: The good folks at Line 6 commissioned me to write this detailed, behind-the-scenes account of the recording session for Stevie Ray Vaughan's Texas Flood. Recorded in about two hours at Jackson Browne's rehearsal studio, the album brought the blues roaring back, earning Stevie the enduring gratitude of Buddy Guy, John Lee Hooker, and other players he deeply admired. This article includes the recollections of producer Richard Mullen, guitar tech Rene Martinez, bassist Tommy Shannon, Epic Records A&R man Gregg Geller, Jackson Browne, John Lee Hooker, and Stevie Ray Vaughan. I invite you to click on over and check it out!
