Robbin Crosby: The Complete 1987 Ratt Interview (Audio)
On Guitars, Soloing, and Co-Guitarist Warren DeMartini
This Robbin Crosby interview is the companion piece to an interview I did with Warren DeMartini that same day (hear it here: Warren DeMartini: The Complete 1987 Ratt Interview). Portions of these were used for the April 1987 issue of Guitar Player, which featured Warren on the cover.
At the time of these conversations, Ratt was midway through their “Dancin’ Undercover” tour, playing sold-out shows at major American venues. Together, these Crosby and DeMartini interviews present unique insight into the inner-workings of one the great glam-metal bands of the 1980s.
Sad to say, Robbin’s life took tragic turns in the years following our interview. After years of battling addiction issues and H.I.V., he died of a reported heroin overdose in 2002. Warren, meanwhile, continues to inspire and influence with his stellar playing.
