A Heart-to-Heart Conversation After the "5150" Tour
Welcome to the podcast featuring the second part of my July 14, 1987, interview with Eddie Van Halen and Sammy Hagar. This conversation took place on the patio of Sammy’s spacious home in Mill Valley, California. Since joining Van Halen two years earlier, Sammy had sung on the chart-topping 5150 album, completed a major tour, and released a self-titled solo album. Reissued as I Never Said Goodbye, this album was co-produced by Eddie, who played the bass parts.
At more than 80 minutes, our patio meeting that afternoon would lead to one of the most in-depth and revealing interviews they’d do together. Here’s Part 2:
